Make the first message specific

A good yarn enquiry gives the reader enough information to identify the material and understand the project. It does not need to begin as a long document. A product code, a quantity and a clear explanation of the intended use can provide a useful starting point.

In the le Charchell catalogue, the product reference stays visible beside the yarn details. Include that code when you contact us. If you have several candidates, list them separately and explain whether they are alternatives or different items in the same brief.

Separate units from the total requirement

Our listed units are 1 kg cones. State how many units you are considering and check that the total weight matches your intention. Ten 1 kg units represent 10 kg of yarn. At a unit price of US$19.90, their product subtotal is US$199.00.

That calculation describes the product subtotal only. It does not establish the delivered cost or confirm availability. When you compare options, keep the quantity and unit basis consistent so that each quotation is being read on the same terms.

Put colour and specification in writing

A saved image can explain an idea, but the written brief should identify the chosen reference and any colour code. Add composition, count or other specification requirements that are important to the project. If something is still provisional, label it as a question.

This is also the place to state any document or testing requirement. Ask about the relevant product rather than assuming a general claim covers the entire catalogue. Keep the answer with the final specification so your team knows what has actually been confirmed.

Include the destination and the date

Share the delivery country or region and the date you are working towards. If there is a distinction between your preferred arrival date and a fixed production deadline, explain it. A supplier needs that context to discuss the request meaningfully.

Ask for shipping, taxes, minimum order requirements and lead time to be confirmed where applicable. Do not treat a product price or a general delivery statement as a complete quotation for your own destination. The final terms need to relate to the order you intend to place.

Review the bag before going to checkout

On this website, product pages let you choose a quantity and add yarn to your bag. The bag shows the selected references and estimated product subtotal. You can adjust quantities or remove an item before continuing.

Checkout continues in our Shopify store. Review the product information, delivery options and final amount there before paying. For a bulk or colour-specific requirement that needs discussion, contact us first rather than assuming a checkout note can replace an agreed specification.

Keep the final agreement together

When the details are settled, save the final product reference, quantity, colour confirmation and commercial terms in one place. Include the company contact details and the relevant quotation or order record. This helps distinguish the confirmed instruction from earlier exploratory messages.

A procurement brief is a shared reference for a project. Its value comes from being understandable to the buyer, the supplier and the other people involved in making the fabric. A little care at the beginning gives the conversation a clearer direction.
