The 1kg sample buying guide
Choose a yarn.
Confirm a shade.
Start with 1kg.
le Charchell helps knitwear teams, designers and studios compare yarn references before committing to production. Our store is operated by KAINOR CLOTHING LIMITED, with a Hong Kong point of contact and sample dispatch from Hong Kong.
What your sample order includes
US$19.90 buys one individually packed 1kg yarn sample of one confirmed shade and specification. The minimum purchase is 1kg. Shipping and any applicable taxes are additional. Quantity 1 means 1kg; quantity 2 means 2kg of the same confirmed selection.
Photographs show the available colour and material references. Each 1kg unit covers the selection agreed with our team. For several colours or yarn specifications, add separate cart items and give each item its own confirmed reference.
Use the sample to check the actual shade, material feel and knitted appearance. After approval, contact us for a bulk quotation: preferential prices depend on the quantity per shade and the production requirements.
Four steps from colour card to checkout
- Shortlist a reference. Search the collection by fibre, count or product code. Review all relevant card images and copy the complete printed shade code, including leading zeros.
- Confirm before ordering. Send the product code, shade code, yarn specification, kilograms required and destination postcode to zncainan@gmail.com, or contact +852 6880 9701. Ask us to confirm availability, freight and dispatch timing.
- Record the confirmed selection. Enter the agreed shade and specification in the product page's Colour reference field. Repeat these details in the order note. For example: Y100-000001, confirmed shade 001, 1kg. Add each different selection separately.
- Review the final amount. Check the product reference, quantities, shipping destination, freight, applicable taxes and final total before paying. If your destination or a delivery option is missing, contact us for a quotation before placing an order.

Read yarn counts with the correct specification
A count number alone does not establish needle size, machine gauge, metres per kilogram or the number of garments a sample will make. Count systems and ply conventions differ. Use the exact notation printed for your selected yarn and confirm the production specification before comparing references.
| Reference | Printed count | What to assess in a trial knit |
|---|---|---|
| Y100-000001 | 15-Count; count system requires confirmation | Gradient sequence, brushed halo and the colour distribution across your panel width. Confirm count system, equipment and finishing. |
| Y100-000004 | 3.3-Count; count system requires confirmation | Air-blown structure, surface appearance and fabric weight in the proposed stitch. Confirm machine settings and the requested count. |
| Y100-000008 | 1/8Nm, retained as printed on the card | Wrapped construction, stitch definition, handle and drape after your intended finishing process. |
We have not converted the unconfirmed 15-Count or 3.3-Count labels into Nm or a garment yield. Send your target gauge, equipment and fabric specification so the appropriate yarn details can be confirmed. Knitting setup: please confirm with us.
Compare photographed gradient and brushed effects
These are the supplied yarn reference photographs. Their knitted panels help you compare colour transitions and surface effects. Stitch structure, panel width, tension and finishing can change the result in your own fabric. View the full gallery for each reference, then assess a physical sample.

Wool blends and cotton–lyocell: shortlist by your brief
Compare composition and construction together. The yarns below have different declared blends; they are starting points for sampling, with finished-fabric performance subject to your own testing.
| Reference | Card-listed composition | Selection focus |
|---|---|---|
| Gradient brushed blend · Y100-000001 | 45% Nylon / 30% Polyester / 15% Acrylic / 10% Wool | A photographed gradient with a brushed-looking halo. Assess colour repeat, surface and handle for your knitwear development. |
| 50% wool blend · Y100-000029 | 50% Wool / 20% Acrylic / 30% Nylon; 2/26NM as printed | W-series shade-card selection. Review the chosen colour, confirm count convention, and trial the intended stitch and finishing. |
| Wrapped cotton blend · Y100-000008 | 50% Cotton / 35% Tencel (card label) / 15% Polyester; 1/8Nm | Wrapped construction with cotton and card-labelled cellulosic fibre. Confirm the selected specification and evaluate actual drape and handle. |
No pilling grade, garment gauge, certified fibre origin or care claim is established by these photographs. Tell us any testing or documentation requirements before ordering; availability is confirmed for the particular yarn and order.
