le Charchell · Yarn sampling & sourcing
A yarn reference
for your next collection.
Before a thread becomes a garment, it passes through many choices.

Where our
story unfolds.
The choice of fibre. The choice of colour. The way a yarn feels between the fingers, and the way it will eventually fall. Details that are easy to overlook in a finished garment often begin with its very first thread.
le Charchell is the storefront brand presented by KAINOR CLOTHING LIMITED. We connect photographed yarn references with a practical sample-ordering process.
Hong Kong is a city shaped by the sea. Its docks, warehouses and shops have brought together materials from different places, alongside different visions of everyday life. Within the city’s textile memory are fabric samples spread across tables, bound volumes of shade cards, and careful conversations about handle, texture and colour. Materials are encountered here, considered and selected, before travelling further afield.
This is the setting of the le Charchell story. With Hong Kong as our home, we turn our attention to yarn itself, and to the way a material gradually becomes part of a design.

A world revealed
in the details.
The world of yarn asks us to come a little closer.
The same colour takes on a different expression in different fibres. Some absorb the light, appearing quiet and warm. Others carry a subtle lustre that shifts with the movement of a garment. Even the same composition can produce a very different handle through changes in twist and fabric construction. Softness, loft, lightness or structure: each quality offers a direction for design.
That is why we believe in leaving enough time for choosing yarn.
Open a shade card and place neighbouring colours side by side. Pick up a swatch and feel its weight and resilience. Let the material rest in the light for a moment, then imagine the garment it might become. Sometimes a design comes into focus through these quiet gestures. The drape of a knitted sweater, or the touch of a scarf against the neck, is closely connected to the material chosen at the beginning.

From reference to physical sample
What it means
to stay with us.
A photographed colour card starts the comparison. A confirmed 1kg sample lets your team examine the actual yarn before discussing bulk supply.
It may be a colour that rewards looking at again and again. It may be a knitted sweater that has passed through several seasons and is still the one we reach for in the wardrobe. We value that possibility in yarn, too: the chance for a material’s character to be felt in daily wear, and for a design to retain its appeal as time passes.
We also believe that what we learn about materials deserves to be recorded with care.
A number on a shade card, a note beside a swatch, a thoughtful comparison of handle: each can leave a clue for the next choice. Yarn has a language of its own. Learning it takes patience and continuing curiosity. Even with a familiar material, a different colour or a different way of knitting can reveal a new expression.
An open outlook.
A practical sensibility.
Hong Kong has given le Charchell an open outlook and a practical sense of proportion.
The city moves quickly, but judging a material calls for close attention. For an idea to become something we can touch, its colour, texture and purpose need to be considered one by one. We hope to preserve that care, giving designers clear points of reference when they look for yarn, alongside room to keep exploring.
From a thread to a knitted swatch, from an idea to a garment, there are many stages that deserve thought. le Charchell wishes to take part from the beginning: bringing material and design together, and helping an idea that has yet to take shape find the texture that belongs to it.
The next page
is still being woven.
The next step is a yarn reference, a confirmed shade and a sample to test.
We hope to write the pages ahead with people who value materials: in new shade cards, in swatches laid open, and in the garments that eventually find their place in everyday life.
